Transferring the Image
I have spent the better part of two weeks gathering the supplies and preparing my board for my icon. Today I set out to copy the "cartoon" of the icon my board. I photocopied a picture of my icon to fit the dimensions of my board, and then charcoaled the back of it so that I could place the image on the board and essentially trace it. This is traditionally how it is done, although it feels 'plagaristic.' However, the image on an icon above all else must be recognizable, without creative input from the writer. So the icon is copied.
